Last year, we reported on the children’s theater “Joyful Heart” in Luzhany in the southwest of Ukraine. We would like to thank you for all your donations. Igor Sauchuk regularly travels to his home town of Luzhany to continue the children’s theater and support his fellow countrymen. The war in Ukraine continues with undiminished ferocity. In April 2025, a children’s playground was shelled with a fragmentation bomb. Twenty civilians, including children, were killed.
With the children’s theater Joyful Heart we convey hope and new perspectives for the children, relatives and spectators in Ukraine. Igor is therefore repeatedly asked to perform the children’s theater on special occasions. Further rehearsals and performances with the eight children have taken place since the summer of 2024. In Luzhany, Lera Galia ensures the continuity of the children’s theater as the local director of the cultural center. In the neighboring town of Mamaivtsi, triplets put on an impressive performance with computer animation (link). Many children and young people have grown into their roles and impress with their self-confidence and independence. The children’s theater connects local children with children from the refugee home.
